The affected services included:\n\n* Authentication \\(sign-in, SSO, existing sessions, and sign-up\\)\n\n* Virtual Device Cloud \\(VDC\\)\n\n* Real Device Cloud \\(RDC\\)\n\n* Sauce Connect\n\n* REST API\n\n* App Storage\n\n* Insights\n\n* Sauce Visual\n\n* Test Composer\n\n* User and Team Management\n\n* Billing Plans and Usage API\n\n### **Why it happened:**\n\nA deployment of the Authentication service triggered an unexpected surge in database connections, causing authentication failures and disrupting multiple Sauce Labs services.\n\n### **How we fixed it:**\n\nRestarted the affected database node.\n\n### **What we are doing to prevent it from happening again:**\n\nImprove rollout strategies, connection lifecycle management, failover mechanisms, and health check responsiveness.",
